Electric Vehicles Become The Apple Car?

Apple launching a vehicle have been going around for quite some time. Last we heard, the tech company wants to have their own vehicle by 2024. While no specifics have surfaced, it seems we might just have our first look at what could be the future Apple Car. The Foxconn Technology Group recently unveiled its first three electric vehicles. For those unfamiliar, Foxconn is the tech giant that manufactures Apple's iPhone.

The three EVs are built in collaboration with Taiwanese automaker Yukon Motor Co, and they are called the Model C, Model E, and the Model T. Sounds familiar? That's because those are the names Ford used for some of their earliest models the Model T and the Model C. The only nameplate Ford didn't use was the Model E. Names aside, the three EVs don't have any resemblance or relevance to the older Fords; the Model C is an electric crossover, the Model E is a sedan, and the Model T is a bus. At the moment, full technical details of the Foxconn EVs have yet to be revealed. However, the tech company says that the Model C crossover can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds and will have a projected range of 700 km. As for the Model E, it's a “technologically innovative luxury flagship sedan” designed in collaboration with Pininfarina. Aside from being luxurious, it generates 750 horsepower and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds. The maximum range is expected to be around 750 km. Meanwhile, Foxconn claims the Model T bus uses batteries that can withstand temperatures of 400 degrees and offer up to 400 km of range. One of the Foxconn models could eventually become the first Apple Car in the future. The company does produce the company's iPhones, after all, so the possibility isn't too far-fetched.
